Our Search Procedure

The following stages ensure a successful outcome:

Preparation

An interactive process, where the consultant and researcher (as appropriate) meet with the relevant client decision-makers to ensure a thorough appreciation of the requirements, the business, culture and the specific appointment criteria.

Specification

Initially, an Outline Proposal is presented; this is supported by a full specification - the Candidate Brief - which details the Company, Appointment, Main Functional Role, Responsibilities, Reporting Structures, Candidate Profile, Remuneration and Future Prospects. The document has sufficient content and emphasis to clarify for all parties -client, candidate and consultant - the full terms of reference.

Research Planning

We target the most appropriate industries and individuals, in conjunction with the client, by recognising any preferences. Approaches are made through our network of contacts and specialised business databases.

Assessment of Candidates

Potential candidates are screened and evaluated, including any client nominees. A preliminary shortlist is determined in line with the broader requirements.

Interview Stage

We undertake comprehensive interviews to produce the final shortlist. This presentation is in the form of a detailed curriculum vitae and a brief outline of the characteristics and potential of each candidate. We may take informal references.

Selection/Appointment

Following client interviews, we will assist with the final selection/negotiation process, including formal reference checking if requested and advise on the remuneration package for the chosen candidate.

Continuity

Throughout an assignment, the retained consultant is responsible to the client and takes full control of all work done on their behalf. Appointments are monitored with a review after six months to ensure that both parties are satisfied.
